And so to JACS... finally, a thoroughly thought-out (TV monitor and DVD-ROM -based) approach that you can literally just sit back and enjoy,,,
I've been to several Japanese schools over the years
and had some very good teachers, but since getting to
a high-intermediate-ish sort of level I've been frustrated that,
although a teacher may be highly professional and a delight
to chat with once or twice a week, he or she and the school
have not in fact put much thought into how they're going
to keep forcing my level up from the vast plateau called
Intermediate (or, often in Japan, `Advanced'; but let's face it,
they're just being polite) where I and so many others are stuck.
The common method of reading something and talking about
it is pleasant enough for a while, but for someone who wants to
go all the way with Japanese it is really too patchy and lacking
in intensity for a classroom session that you have paid money and
crossed town for.
And so to JACS... finally, a thoroughly thought-out (TV monitor and
DVD-ROM -based) approach that you can literally just sit back and enjoy,
with the results pretty much guaranteed by the thought and preparation
that went into the teaching materials long before you arrived.
The school is a humble one now but this is surely the future of
language teaching.
Highly recommended.
